With Asterisk you can force users to setup a password, record a greeting and record their name. This is all done by an automated setup process. This is only accomplished if the following options are set.

  1. The mailbox password is the same as the mailbox number
  2. in voicemail.conf (one or both of the following set to yes)
    • forcename=yes
    • forcegreeting=yes
